Justin McCoy is the Founder and Editor of BreathFinder, an independent platform dedicated to making breathwork easier to discover, understand, and access.
His journey into breathwork didn’t begin with a business plan or the idea of creating a global platform. It began with a simple curiosity about the power of breathing and a desire to learn more.
As Justin explored the rapidly growing world of breathwork, he immersed himself in researching breathing techniques, practitioners, training providers, books, podcasts, videos, and scientific research. Before long, he realised he had accumulated hundreds of bookmarks spread across his web browser. To bring some order to the growing collection, he created a simple spreadsheet.
What started as a personal way to organise breathwork websites and resources soon evolved into something much bigger. The spreadsheet continued to grow as Justin discovered more practitioners, educators, organisations, breathing methods, and educational resources from around the world. It also revealed a problem.
Although breathwork was growing rapidly, the information people needed was scattered across hundreds of different websites, organisations, and social media channels. Finding a qualified practitioner, comparing training providers, understanding different breathing approaches, or simply knowing where to begin often required hours of research.
The more Justin expanded his spreadsheet, the more he realised he wasn’t simply organising websites anymore—he was building a map of the global breathwork community. That growing knowledge base became the foundation for what would eventually become BreathFinder.
Rather than creating another breathwork school or promoting a single methodology, Justin founded BreathFinder as an independent platform where people could confidently explore the diverse world of breathwork through trusted information, educational resources, and connections to professionals and organisations across the industry.
Today, Justin leads BreathFinder’s editorial strategy and educational direction. Drawing on professional breathwork training, years of independent research, and the ongoing development of BreathFinder, and years of developing the platform, he researches, writes, reviews, and curates evidence-informed content covering breathwork techniques, breathing science, practitioner guidance, training pathways, and developments across the global breathwork industry and community.
Since founding BreathFinder, Justin has researched and catalogued hundreds of breathwork professionals, training providers, organisations, educational resources, books, podcasts, videos, breathing techniques, and scientific publications from around the world. This ongoing work provides a broad understanding of the diverse philosophies, practices, and emerging developments shaping modern breathwork.

As Founder and Editor, Justin remains actively involved in expanding BreathFinder’s knowledge base, researching new developments, reviewing educational resources, and maintaining the platform’s editorial standards. He believes breathwork should be accessible to everyone — and rather than promoting one organisation, certification body, or breathing methodology, his goal is to help people discover trusted professionals, resources, and balanced information so they can make informed decisions about their own breathwork journey.
Today, BreathFinder is used by readers from around the world who are exploring breathwork techniques, researching training providers, discovering practitioners, and accessing trusted educational resources. This growing global audience continues to shape the platform’s development and reinforces its mission to make breathwork more accessible to everyone.
What began as a simple spreadsheet to organise breathwork resources has grown into an independent platform connecting the global breathwork community—and Justin continues to build BreathFinder with the same purpose that inspired it from the very beginning: making breathwork easier for everyone to discover, understand, and access.
