Interview With Tracy Holemeyer
Tracy Holemeyer is a highly experienced somatic practitioner and breathwork facilitator. With her expertise in breathwork, meditation, somatic experiencing, and sacred initiations, Tracy guides individuals on a transformative journey towards healing, reclaiming their true selves, and embodying alignment. Her holistic approach focuses on well-being, energy-alignment, and trauma-responsiveness, providing a safe and sacred container for self-healing. Tracy's unique blend of modalities, including breathwork and somatic remedies, offers powerful tools for clearing core ruptures and shedding light on the shadows within. Through her compassionate guidance, Tracy empowers individuals to remember their wholeness and live authentically in their truth.
After completing several trauma trainings I realized breathwork workers as a natural medicine for the body and nervous system. I trained in a trauma-informed approach to guide people back to remembering their wholeness through the breath.

The body is the healer, everything we need is within, informed by Breathwork techniques, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, attachment theory, developmental skills, and generative somatics.
I create space by meeting each individual, and their NS, right where they are. Recognizing some breathing techniques are useful for some but not all. I offer a collaboration with the client to help them build up their own safety, support, and resilience.
Our first session will be parts getting to know one another, learning about how the breath effects the body in healing, maintaining, and recovery. Likely a brief overview of different patterns to see how the body tolerates activation, and some breath. Unless the client is well versed in breathwork the breathing would be a shorter session to begin with.
Breath by James Nestor, Waking the Tiger by Peter Levine, It Didn't Start with you by Mark Wolynn (I have tons of book recommends)
Drink plenty of water the day leading up to the session, minimize water intake about an hour before, don't eat just before breathwork, wear comfortable clothing, have a cozy space where you feel safe and/or comfortable. Optional things would be having a journal, blanket, eye mask, a place where you can recline back or lay down to be supported.
To go gently. Activating and dropping into the body can elicit material we are meant to process through, however, it doesn't mean it feels easy to do so. Remain a compassionate observer. You get to take your time and receive support. We want to fully embody this human condition, we are meant to steward ourselves well on the journey.
All are welcome in my practice, I have worked with men, women, groups, couples, and typically specifically people who have experienced, or are experiencing trauma.
Helping humans heal, build their own toy-box or toolkit, create the life they long for, recover, overcome, live in their truth, understand and connect with their own body are all rewarding aspects of my work, but I would say the most rewarding piece is the generative aspect, the ripple of well-being through generations that is created when we pass down our healing instead of our untended trauma.
Some people come for a series, some work with me for months or years, some do a bulk of processing and then return for maintenance and ongoing self-care. It all depends on the individual.
If it is supportive to the clients journey
In ongoing sessions, we will discuss intentions, desired outcomes, and specific areas or material to process, and we will have a curated session to include breathwork and other somatic practices.
There is a constant dialogue and check-ins; healing only happens if there are transitions, shifts, growth, etc.
