I created Sapphire Breathwork after finishing my breathwork facilitator certification. I still maintain an active practice as a psychologist/psychotherapist as well. I value that work highly and feel fortunate to help people in the process of life—moving through it, adapting and growing, meeting many challenges. At the same time, both professional and personal life have taught me that sometimes we need a “something more” to fully evolve beyond the strong, especially traumatic, bonds and associations of our past, our deeply-held learnings and experiences. I have found that breathwork offers a very effective pathway for this. It lends itself to both somatic release and to the kinds of transcendent experience offered by psychedelic therapies. I like the term “non-drug psychedelic experience” – and I would place breathwork firmly in that category.

I have for many years taught breathwork for relaxation and anxiety management in therapy. Through Sapphire Breathwork, though, I concentrate on conscious connected breathwork, a more energizing practice that has wider-ranging and often deeper effects. Conscious connected breathing has its roots in holotropic breathwork and rebirthing. It
has evolved into an accessible modality that can complement and enhance psychotherapy, or stand alone as a healing mode. In this work I act as a coach and guide--I do not serve as a psychotherapist in this setting. I engage in an attuned,
trauma-informed way, as you experience what you need to, for your healing, your path and goals in life. This can occur in one-on-one sessions, with additional coaching if desired pre- and post-, or in a small group setting.
